JLearn

What is JLearn?
JLearn is an innovative and exciting way to explore Judaism while studying in university. JLearn courses offer Jewish students classes that are stimulating, thought-provoking, and engaging.

For the Winter/Spring 2013 semester, we will be offering two courses in Jewish studies:

1) Soul Maps provides an innovative look at human psychology, using the insights and teachings of the Kabbalah. Soul Maps, based on the internationally published and reprinted book of Tanya, is designed as a 6-session consultation with a master of Kabbalah and the human mind.

2) Fascinating Facts - Does Judaism believe in guardian angels? Why do Jews use matchmakers? Who wrote the handwriting on the wall? A fun course in Jewish cultural literacy, full of surprising facts, myths, and mysteries surrounding Jewish tradition and practice.

Because Soul Maps is based on the tried and tested wisdom of the Kabbalah, it isn’t just another self-help course. Rather, the course will provide concrete tools to help you understand who you are, and who you can be. This course provides practical strategies for overcoming common impediments to succeeding at personal change, through helping you understand the dynamics of your internal struggles. You discover how the wisdom of Judaism continues to speak to the concerns of our times.

Importantly, Soul Maps is designed for people at all levels of Jewish knowledge. You don’t have to have any prior experience or background in Jewish learning to attend and enjoy this course.  JLearn courses are open to all Jewish students, regardless of background or affiliation.

All JLearn courses are presented in a manner where you are invited to question, debate, argue, and even disagree. This is an opportunity to approach Judaism’s most important questions in an atmosphere of open analysis and discussion.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about our religion…to answer the most important questions of life…to find meaning, you are invited to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

We are looking forward to meeting you and studying together with you!
