Student Reflections

Hello Rabbi S.

I wanted to let you know that I went to Rabbi Chaim's for shabbat dinner last night and it was wonderful. It truly warms my heart that he and his family open their home and feed so many of us. I thought I would let you know that I had a great time.

Everything has been amazing. Joining the Hillel and the CSN has been one of the best opportunities for me since...ever!
Thank you so much for everything. I will for sure be seeing you at the BBQ Sunday and will do my best to make it out Friday night. I believe I may be having Shabbat dinner with my cousins that night, but if not I will surely be seeing you.

I'm really looking forward to our next study-session and look forward to learning more about the Tanya and Caballah (I never spell it right). I also really appreciate your constant invitations for Shabbos, it is really thoughtful and always appreciated. My parents are heading out of town on sunday, so I need to check wit them still if we are doing something at home, otherwise i would love to be there. I wouldn't want to get in the way of your doing your Erev-Shabbos service though (I hope I got that right).

I went and looked for Man's Search for Meaning, but it was only available on-line. My doctor recommnded another book for me, called "Feeling Good" and I picked that up yesterday - it's an international best-seller and he says of all his years studying the brain, this one was the best one he has come across - it's also the cheapest, then he laughed. 
Lastly, I wanted to thank you again for all of the time and understanding you have given and shown to me. It was so thoughtful of you to offer to send me to Toronto when I mentioned a random stranger, and for ordering me some books and for offering to teach me and instruct me in Hebrew and all of the other things you're doing on my behalf exclusively for me. I am still very interested in joining you when you go to the prisons, or when you do any kind of charitable outreach, and I would really like to help contribute back to the community they way you have reached out to me, I just wish I was able to be more firm in my convictions.

Just wanted to thank you for all your great and meaningful work in the community this year and wish you and your beautiful family a great summer!

So nice getting to know you this year. I will be in Israel until August, but back in Ottawa in September and I look forward to seeing you then!
